These dro-wors are prepared from very high-grade London broil beef that has been coarsely ground and combined with a traditional South African recipe of vinegar and spices. They can also be spelt droe-wors or drywors. (mainly coriander, but also contains salt, pepper, and other spices). After being stuffed into lamb casings, the meat is hung to dry for a few days. These are traditional and smaller than others because they use beef casings with a bigger diameter; the lamb casings are 18 to 20 mm in diameter.

The drowors are then divided into bite-sized chunks and vacuum sealed into ready-to-eat packs to preserve their flavour and freshness. Drowors is a popular South African snack that is suitable for all events and times of day because of its deliciously distinctive flavour and texture. A good moment to have some dro-wors is always!
